Inspiration Friday – Living Rooms

October 14, 2016

Ahhhh Friday !
Normally, right about now, I’d be looking forward to coming home from work, getting covered in all kinds of fluffy blankets to fight the cold ( why is it so freakin’ cold already ?!), and gearing up for a good Netflix marathon.
But I’ve changed, man … (in a good way … I was sooo lazy.)

My brain has been overwhelmed with inspiration this week, and I’ve stayed up all hours of the night coming up with new ideas, writing and drawing on every available surface like a lunatic while staring at my walls. It. Was. Awesome !
So this weekend will be action-packed, filled with painting, installing floors and lights (and maybe even some furniture building) and I’m super excited about it !
I’ll unveil all my hard-work on Monday, but for now I wanted to write a little before-the-weekend post for inspiration.
Today, let’s look at some living rooms !

Enjoy the eye candy !
inspiration-living-room-1Proof you can have white walls and anything-but-boring style.
That settee is so cozy and fancy at the same time it’s making my head spin !

The girl is not afraid of anything : bold colors, mixing styles, life-sized peacocks. Well done, lady.

I love Tony Duquette’s style. It’s crazy, it’s bold, it’s luxurious, it’s unexpected, and I bet his parties could only be rivaled by Elton John himself.

This pretty contains all of my staples : checkered floors, brick walls, neons, plants. Perfection !

And last but not least, the real treat is this amazing picture from the original Addams Family TV show set, in color ! The set designers used bright colors to create depth in the black and white image. This place is fascinating ! We’ve got stuffed animals, fantastic antique rugs, dramatic drapes, and I spy the apple of my eye – a giant peacock chair in the corner. I would’ve had so much fun here !
