Greg Natale – My Kind of Luxury Designer

July 25, 2022

Happy Monday everyone !
I’ve been running around a lot these past two months, but this week is the start (finally!) of a good ol’ “stay at home” period where I get to recharge, enjoy an almost empty Paris – with bearable temperatures ! – get creative, and load up on inspiration. I just combed through exhibits for the month so I can discover some cool new artists and places, and I’m also starting to prep some mayyybe big décor changes to my apartment. I know I keep teasing it and you hate me but things are in motion and I’m hoping to share a vision for it very soon ! I tend to wing a lot of it since I’m basically a child with no self control, so it’s hard to stop and plan and photograph…
But I shall try, for the good of the blog !

In terms of design inspiration there is one person that just shines for me and I could easily call him the designer of the year with this space. I look at it at least once a week, if not more, and while this is the only photos we have, Greg himself is teasing us on his instagram with more, since it’ll be featured prominently in his new book. As you can imagine I would sell my left arm for this book right now, but sadly I’ll have to wait for october… and I guess keep my arm.

So this amazing space has been on my mind constantly and I thought it was high time I shared in case any of you missed it ! It’s located in Melbourne, of course, because design in Australia is the bomb, and it’s a quaint, teeny-tiny 4000 sq. ft. penthouse apartment.
So new life goal : rob a bank, move to Australia, steal this apartment. You in ? Actual plan TBD (I’m open to suggestions).

At the time, this photo broke my jaw.

All. Of. The. Lighting !

This bathroom. No words.

Ok that was pretty useless commentary but ! this is literally what goes through my brain every time I look at this design, it’s so utterly fabulous I can’t even deal with it. The restrained palette of blush and burgundy is so delicious, every single light choice is drop dead gorgeous and just, everything : the scale, the gold, the over-the-top but highly sophisticated look of it all. I’ve rarely been this in love with a whole project. If I was a guest and didn’t know what I was about to step into, can you imagine ? Who knows, I might break down and ugly cry on the floor right there in the foyer, or just straight up slap the host from shock ! It’s too much !
Let’s be grateful for their safety that we’re nowhere near that happening 😝

Hope you loved it as much as I did ! And I’d love to feature more of Greg’s fabulous work in the future so I may do a round-up of his beautiful projects ! In the meantime, check out his Instagram of course and have a great week !
