It’s heeeere !! Ok so if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my adventures at Maison & Objet last week, just like last time, I took photos of all my favorite weird and wonderfully bold booths and brands to take you on a virtual tour. When I do a recap post though, I like to use the brands’ official photos so you can get a better look at everything and not just my mid-tier photography (sorry!).
There is sooo much to look at, so I like to do a little curated version to my personal taste – let’s dive into this first day so I’ll shut up and let you enjoy all these fabulous discoveries 😉
First stop : Studio Kartini ! I fell in love with this ceramics artist’s works last year so I had to go back right away and see my favorite monsters. Some of these pieces are actually fountains which is genius, and they all have such personalities, I just can’t get over them. I’m going to go and visit the studio soon and I’m so exciteeeed !!! If you have money my god please buy one, it will bring you so much happiness 🥰
Next up, there’s a new french brand in town for all your maximalist needs : the delightful Lure Paris.
They do sell to the EU, UK and US so it’s not just for me, and have a fabulous range of patterns that apply to pillows, throws or retro lampshades. They have a bit of a Divines Savages vibes but less 20s, that I really loved – super bold, and fun and the booth decor was very cool so props for that ! Here’s a little selection from their catalog :
DoingGoods is a staple of the expo, such a fun booth so I had to go back as well – here are some of their current offerings.
I love their little trinkets like this frame with the hands – adorable :
PolsPotten is also a must-see of course for their wall of stools every year but we got some new goodies that I really really liked, the wooden robot stool is my new best friend and I loved all the hologram style metallics on vases and stools, etc. Extremely cool vibes !
Always a pleasure to see the all-time fabulous Jonathan Adler items up close and personal.
I’m using some in a project currently and I got to see for myself the new collection and it’s perfect, as usual 🤤
So this has been super in vogue in France for the past few years but it looks like they have a new collection which I really love, it’s retro blow-up indoor/outdoor furniture from Mojow ! I’m not as crazy about the more classic ones but this shape, with the acrylic arms is really my jam ! Plus : the colors.
I swung by the delightful Werns by Werner Voß – for all your funky-ass lamps and table needs. I love their animals selection it’s so broad and different – that poodle lamp is just the coolest thing ever.
Now this was a total new discovery I was super excited about, it’s from Heinen Delfts Blauw and it’s fully customizable crazy stackable vases ! You can pick your top, middle and bottom and create a fun palette that speaks to you with their unique options.
I thought this was fabulous and they are beautiful in person (big too!!)
I also saw Santano Design for the first time, who does create furniture pieces, but the main attraction is their giant gold palm trees, and they actually made the ones from the Prospect Hollywood hotel one of my first and biggest crushes from Pinterest so it was wild to see those huge brass trees in person. You can see a lot of their selection and what was on display on their instagram page.
Just beautiful pieces 🤩 🤩
Kare Design is one of my favorite wild and glam design houses, first up their timeless mascot the giant golden gorilla brings you in like catnip, but their do have some seriously fun pieces, like these :
And finally for today, we arrive, as we always do (and should) at Abhika Home Couture – my north star.
This booth is the chicest, boldest, glammiest ? Why not, booth in all the land and it is tailor-made for yours truly.
We’ve got malachite a-plenty, ceramic felines all around, and nothing but velvet. What more could a girl want ?
Here’s a little look at their catalog :
Hello Roger’s extended family ! Now the catalog hasn’t updated yet so I’m waiting for that and I can’t share all the new stuff I saw yet which is bummer, but we’ll circle back 😉 But they sell some of my favorite stuff and things I’ve used (or at least coveted) for my clients regularly like these beauties :
Last year, I fell in love with these two bad boys above of course …
But this year, things took a turn. The main take-away has been that I need this sofa :
But not in a “haha it’s so me and I love it”. I actually need it, and I’m actually considering buying it – which is insane. It would be my first, for real grown up, expensive piece of furniture ever. Reminder : the sofa I have now has been with me since 2009, it’s a three-seater with a pull-out bed in red velvet and it cost me 80$. So fancy showroom sofa over here would be quite the departure 😳
Buuuuut, I can’t stop thinking it about it and with designer prices its ridiculously, *technically*, affordable.
I still get a cold sweat thinking about it but I’m not having to sell any kidneys or anything. So to be continued.
I need to contact them and see if I’ll actually pull the trigger. It also means redesigning my whole apartment probably so there’s that … I’m totally not freaking out about it if that’s what you’re wondering …
Ok ! So this was our first day tour, plenty of good and shiny things to ponder, and on Friday I’ll be sharing the second part with even more wild things ! Don’t forget to check in to get inspired for the weekend !
