It’s discovery time ! I’m very pleased to end the year on a Parisian apartment because while I do spend a lot of my time and brain power looking at American design and working with American clients, it’s important that I don’t forget that my feet are very much rooted in the beautiful city of lights everyday ! Classic parisian design is usually a little too colorless for me so I don’t often use it as inspiration.
As much as those gorgeous large haussmannian apartments are the top of the list of anyone looking for a place here, and the features are of undeniable beauty, I can really appreciate the look but don’t consider it in my daily inspiration to create.
(Although if you want to gift me one of these apartment, I obviously wouldn’t say no, just paint everything 😆)
That was, until I saw this gem : a first project by Cathy Vedovi, a woman with roots in art throughout her life but no formal design training, and a more well-known architect Benoit Dupuis, working together to create this very unique and high concept space in Paris !
I was floored by some of the views, the furniture, boldness of the colors and the choices there, so this was a must share !!
It makes me very giddy to spy French apartments like this because we can be a bit too “by-the-book” for my taste, with codes to French luxury being very much in place. I just don’t get surprised by a French project very often, especially for higher budgets,
so this one made me extra happy 😍
They’ve just released the first official magazine tour so I’m hoping we see more details and extra views in the future but for now, come take a little stroll through this ultra-cool mix of modern and traditional ❤️
I wish I could see more details of the dining room space in particular there, those chairs are so crazy and fun, it really sets the tone next to the delicious and bold red velvet banquette, in that odd-shaped room. The wall mirror and huge fireplace are such a statement… and that kitchen ! Well, basically everything, I’m obsessed ! 😝
Not bad as a last reminder to be fearless as you get ready to dive into a new year !
This one really is the last Monday post of the year, I’ve arrived at my cozy destination safely and I’m already covered in cat fur so all is right the world and I’ll be enjoying the rest (and the food)! There’ll be one more Weekly Finds Friday and then I’ll see you next year ✌️
