Good morning color lovers !
Today we have a seriously fun throwback tour : thanks to the amazing skills of Meg Gustafson, we’re time-travelling to a world of neon, hairspray and synth music. That’s right, we’re going back to the 80’s ! Meg is famously obsessed with the decade and when she bought this house in 2021, she began a fabulous DIY makeover to unleash the time machine !
This place is both retro and current in its boldness, mixing concepts from room to room and creating a labyrinth of unexpected playfulness and sophistication throughout. Touching on a bit of a theme for maximalist rooms, every wall is painted and more often than not, so is the ceiling, really creating these full looks. The vintage collection is obviously perfectly curated, coming from a total expert of this particular decade, but there’s also a real touch of genius with the modern add-ons. It doesn’t feel like an old time capsule but rather a fantastic modern homage, and a very liveable and inviting one at that.
