04 May You want leopard ? Oh, we got leopard !
Nelcya Cantoni and her husband Fabrizio are the founders of CC-Tapis – the fabulous Milan-based rug emporium -, and directly responsible for some of the wildest and most creative rugs on the market today. Any maximalist designer worth their salt would recognize a CC-Tapis in a heartbeat, so of course, I had no doubt that their house was gonna be a blast !
I knew this in my heart, but I was not prepared for the black & white realness and in your face leopard of it all, and I’m just giddy to share it with you ! This one isn’t all over the internet yet but it’s just been published in France over the weekend so I’m calling a “closest wins” dibs for France! Turns out, Nelcya was born in France, so she set her sights on a Paris apartment to replenish her racines and settled on what Americans would deem a “pretty small” apartment in the magical neighborhood of the Sacré-Coeur, Rue des Martyrs.
It’s true this apartment bursting with personality is only 76 square meters, or 818 sq. ft. for you guys, and to Parisians, that’s a hell of a lot of space, especially when you spend your days outside, eating from fresh markets, delicious restaurants and walking up and down cobblestone streets. Ok I’m exaggerating a bit but it is weirdly refreshing to see renowned designers and otherwise famous creatives settle for an inviting, cocoon-like space without too much frills and not a giant penthouse full of empty space and empty rooms. These gorgeous people have a Murphy bed covered in leopard and a custom Bowie lightning bolt for god’s sake, that is waaaay more fun.
So the moral of the story here is be more like us Frenchies : get a smaller space and fill it with things you love, then go outside enjoy food, life and the city, and come back to your delightful cocoon ! As bonus, you’ll save on rent money to buy delicious antique furniture 🤪
My only regret is there’s not more photos of this one, hopefully they’ll trickle in on socials after the while, so make sure you follow them ! In the meantime, enjoy the tour :
