Happy Friday all ! Today was a lovely sunny adventure through Paris – it’s a holiday weekend in France, and when the sun is shining, there’s no better option than to hit a museum, grab some lunch and walk around in the city ! It did mean playing hooky from this post a little bit but I made it under the wire, my face a little sunburnt and my feet a little tired, but all worth it 😉
This week, it’s all about color and contrast for me so my brain steered me towards this very fun pink and yellow combo (with my new favorite art print EVER !) along with a good dose of timeless graphic black & white patterns ! Check it out and have a fabulous weekend !
Is it time to talk about Italy again ? Great, because that is all I want to do all day, every day 😝 Today I want to showcase one of the more beautiful and eclectic spaces I’ve seen come out of the Italian design scene – which can sometimes feel a bit too rigid and traditional for this color-loving lady. Like France, maximalism isn’t really the norm in Italy, bathing instead in the more classic, luxurious styles of antiques and design furniture, framed in a very unique style of architecture. The homes are either sparse but intentional in their design, or overly traditional (in my taste). Sure, some of the funner “out there” brands like my beloved Seletti are Italian, but they’re not what you’re likely to encounter in most living rooms in Italy. But without going full rainbow, you can still find some luxury-minded creatives willing to play with the existing structure and give it an unexpected twist.
Nina Yashar is one of those creatives. As a renown gallerist with impeccable taste, Nina curated a space full of unique and amazing pieces as you would expect, but it’s addition of the surprising twist in the walls and ceilings that really takes this design to a whole other level. With only a couple of white walls throughout the whole space, she created a labyrinth of curiosities, stepping from cocoon to wonderland with each door frame, each room even more unique and beautiful than the last. I can feel both the energy and creativity this home would charge you up with while simultaneously being so relaxed by it and feeling already at home, and never needing to go outside again. And that is quite a feat.
Happy Friday ! It’s been crazy busy since I got back from Italy and this week went by in a giant blur – something that wasn’t helped by the near constant stream of rain outside my window – but the weekend is almost upon us and I don’t know about you but personally, I plan to sleep through it ! But I couldn’t leave you without a little taste of new goodies, and a whole heap of leopard print … Urban Outfitters just released a new fabulous rug that is a must see, and I’ve been ogling this curvy chair for days. Throw in a beaded clutch and some funky art and you’ve got yourself a party 😎 Take a look below and see you on the other side ! 😴
