Some White Walls for Your Eyeballs !

February 13, 2023

From dark and sexy looks in London, to high voltage color-blocking in Lake Como, the past week has been veeeery color-filled !
So today I figured your eyeballs might need a little rest We’re starting off this week very casually with this super cool home from the fantastic L.A. Studio, where the walls are white and the accessories are … not !
Now, take note if you’re afraid to paint your walls : this is secret sauce ! Bold, colorful accessories with a ton of personality, strategically placed pops of color (and I do mean COLOR! Don’t half-ass it), oh and amazing furniture and art doesn’t hurt either 😉

L.A. Studio does such amazing projects because their curated collections are just incredible, make sure you follow them on Instagram to get a sense of their look and see more of their designs. I, for one, am in love … 🥰

A Jaw Dropping Color-Blocking Masterpiece in Italy

February 10, 2023

Good people of the internet … this is a special inspiration post on Friday – yes I know, it’s shocking, just breathe. But this couldn’t wait ! For I present to you my new love : the home of Dalila Formentini in Lake Como. Welcome to a very unique mix of traditional and highly electric modernity : it’s graphic patterns and color-blocking at its finest, and in such an unexpected setting. This ain’t your grandma’s Lake Como let me tell ya ! (Or George Clooney’s for that matter …)

Now this tour is short and sweet because while it’s been published in a few magazines, it’s weirdly very hard to find pictures of it online! So I’ll stick to my favorite rooms, starting with this insanely perfect checkerboard from wall to ceiling, the color combination, the traditional elements, my god…

I am not ashamed to say I openly wept. Look. At. It !!

But Dalila’s not done with you, no sir, because she has even more color-blocking skills up her sleeves, with high voltage rooms a-plenty !

And just when you thought you were safe : BAM ! Pattern explosion !

I don’t know about you but I was already dreaming of Lake Como, so I now I have to find this house – and Dalila –
and convince her to let me live there in the attic, ugh, it’s going to be tricky !
I hope this is going to be good daydream fodder for you guys today while you’re waiting for the week to be over ! ✌️
(This post is 100% sponsored by the vacation I just booked to spend my birthday week in Italy this year ! 😝)

Dark & Luxurious : The Sexy Home of Caroline Legrand

February 6, 2023

Good morniiiing ! I’m up bright and early this morning for some weird reason, but the sun has been shining two days in a row and I can already feel the magic working so I’m already unbearably chipper (or maybe it’s just the full moon ! 😜) Weirdly enough today we’re celebrating all of this lightness in the air with a very dark and sexy room design … I gotta keep you on your toes ! 😉
A few weeks ago I discovered the wonderfully talented Caroline Legrand, and began profusely drooling over her many projects, especially this one : her home in Holland Park. As much as I love color, dark and edgy spaces have a special place in my heart
(as do huge, vintage velvet sofas!).

Caroline describes this space as getting very little natural light, so she doubled down and surrendered to the darkness, a good trick any designer would agree with, creating a dark and cosy cocoon out of the space. It’s got some subtle 70s vibes, mixed with a very contemporary sensibility of bold and eye-catching pieces, and a good heap of vintage curated from around the world.
That’s how you do it folks !

The rams’ head dining table is up there as one of my favorite all-time furniture wants, and I’ve never seen a ceramic dinosaur before, but now I want one. Also I was on the fence the last few days but this is a sign, I’m definitely getting a faux fur throw for my bed 🤩 I love spaces like these as a reminder to clients : dark rooms are not gloomy, they are beyond chic ! This is exhibit A if I ever did see one.
Hope you’ll feel as inspired as I am !
