Spotlight On : Mob Wife Aesthetic

January 22, 2024

Happy Monday all ! I hope you had a lovely weekend, on my end you may have read on Friday’s Weekly Finds post that I was galavanting all across Paris for the past week, checking out events and shows from Paris Deco Off – the big design event in the streets of Paris. We laughed, we drank a lot of champagne, froze our asses off and saw some absolutely beautiful things. It was blast !

During those particular days, a big trend started to take over Tik Tok and Instagram and it was the talk of the town. Now I don’t do trends – as a maximalist everything always circles back and I’m very “buy what you love”. Style is trend-less and personal and magazines just need to fill pages trying to sell you “what’s in style”. But, what started out as a very fun clothing trend got us designers and faux-fur lovers talking about what it means in terms of interiors and I realized this trend covers basically all of my favorite interiors of all time.
So I thought let’s use this trending topic to go back, and showcase some truly badass homes that you may not know.
And if 2024 has you feeling bold so far, this is your sign to go for it big time.
I present to you : the definitive look at “Mob Wife Aesthetic” at Home.

“Mob Wife Aesthetic” is pretty simple : it’s 90’s supermodel glamour with a heavy dose of leather, faux fur, diamonds, and gold. It’s Michelle Pfeiffer in Scraface. All attitude and very in your face, which is my favorite kind of design. It’s sex, drugs and a lot of money showing off, but in a cool way. A few of the homes below were designed by rock stars and you can see how they got it down pat.
So take a scroll below and get ready for maximum inspiration if you’re in the maximalist column, this is the good shit. 😎

This was such a fun trip down memory lane for me finding all these photos again that I’ve saved over the year and having them in the same spot is going to be a great booster shot for inspiration anytime I need.
So what do you think ? Are you ready for your Mob Wife era ? What’s your favorite ?

The Coolest Finds of the Week

January 19, 2024

Happy Friday ! If you’re following along on Instagram, it’s a big design week over here in Paris : we got the famous Maison & Objet salon happening, and at the same time, showrooms across Paris are opening their doors and doing cool events. Designers from all over the world are flocking here for the occasion and I was lucky enough to visit a few of the events and hang out with some very fun and (fancy!) designers so it’s been keeping me busy ! But don’t think I forgot about our weekly date 🤗

We’re still freezing over here in Paris temperature wise, but for the last two days, the sun has been out
and it’s inspired a few of my finds : so, today I’m sharing items with a hopeful warmth to cut through this winter cold !
We’re gonna keep it elegant and understated but with a little cheeky wink, of course.
Also you didn’t know this until now, but we all need selenite fire logs, ok ? Thank you.
Have a fabulous weekend all !
