Welcome To The Most Inspiring Artist Home Evaaaa !

June 27, 2022

Oh man, there is nothing quite like stumbling upon fresh, unique, bold inspirational spaces and today I hit the mother-load !
This glorious abode is the Sydney home of artist David Humphries and well :

Giant bonkers art pieces, check; amazing life-sized sculptures, yup; plants … what’s a word for triple the amount of “galore” ? That. Oh and what about a coffee table I hear you asking, well it’s a double-headed wooden crocodile of course ! Ugh, if I was ever invited to this place I would literally never leave – and that’s on top of me taking 6 months to look over every single item on the shelves and tabletops asking “where did you get this ?” over and over again. It’s actually physically hurting me how much I love this place.

Let this be a reminder to everyone out there : please buy weird and awesome shit 🙏

Perfection. Also a good advocate for maximalism because it does feel like such a relaxing place to me and not necessarily “cluttered” just bold in the best way possible. I really hope you guys will fall in love with it the way I did, so pin and share to your heart’s desire !

As for me, I hope you enjoyed last week’s surprise TOV Furniture round-up while I was away. You know just a quiet, cozy, little weekend in the southwest of France with a few friends. I’m the one on the left in the red shirt :

I did make it back from Hell(fest) in one piece after 4 days so that’s good, but I can’t tell you how excited I am to sleep in my bed tonight 😭 So on that note, happy Monday to you all – I’m out !

Scrolling and Drooling : The TOV Pieces of My Dreams

June 23, 2022

Surprise ! It’s a special Thursday post ! That’s right, we’re switching it up with another edition of “Scrolling and Drooling” and this week, it’s all about one of my all-time favourite source for furniture and goodies, the one and only TOV Furniture.

Now the secret reason behind this Thursday post is that I’m skipping town for a few days so there won’t be any Weekly Finds tomorrow… It seems I wasn’t satisfied to have survived last week’s gruesome heatwave in Paris, so this weekend I’m heading out to meet 200.000 people at a heavy metal music festival. As one does. It’s actually been a few years because of Covid so I can’t wait … to be stuck with a lot of sweaty people in the middle of a field and to sleep in a small tent instead of my amazing, oh so soft bed.

It’s gonna be awesome ! But nevermind all that – because meanwhile, you lucky ducks get to dive in and drool over this badass brand. I’ve worked with their products for years and I’m always so amazed by their collections and overall creativity. It’s funky, glam, colorful, and unbelievably affordable. Their tag line is “don’t be boring” so obviously they have a special place in my heart…

Here is a look at some my favorite pieces – though to be honest I might need to do a “Part 2” because there’s too many of them ! Shoppable links below if you catch the fever 🤗

Black Desk / Lips Sofa / Fringe Table Lamp / Blue Bar Stool / Black Floor Lamp / Fur Director’s Chair
White Bed / Blue Swivel Chair / Pink Desk / Green Desk Chair / Bubble Dining Table / Yellow Bar Stool

White Desk / Teal Curve Sofa / Bubble End Table / Orange End Table / Purple Bench / White Fur Chair
Teal Side Chair / Grass Chandelier / Inlay Dresser / White Fringe Chair / Ball Dining Table / Orange Bench

Enjoy your weekend and I’ll be back on Monday – hopefully with all my bones ! 🤘

Step Into the Delightful World of Black Lacquer Design

June 20, 2022

Happy Monday all ! I don’t know about you and where you are but here in Paris we had a pretty brutal heatwave over the weekend – which is always a fun time when you live in a small concrete box next to millions of people and no A/C … yay …
Roger says “hi” by the way :

Thankfully it’s a new day and the rain came this morning to heal us all, so my formerly melted brain has turned back into a fully functioning jelly ! Wait, ew. So today, back at it with some glorious inspiration, I’m bringing the spotlight to one of my favorite design firms, Black Lacquer Design. You may remember them as the design geniuses behind this incredible space I was fawning over a few months back, the apartment for comedian and all-around magical unicorn Nicole Byer.

I’ve been following Black Lacquer Design for years now and am so consistently impressed by Caitlin Murray’s design brain and unique choices. It’s equal parts classic and sexy, but also unexpected and funky in ways that delight me so – she can deliver high drama as much as total whimsy and that is not an easy feat, trust me ! Everyone should be following this incredible studio and for now you can feast your eyes on some of my favorite spaces of below !
