What The World Needs Now : Courtney McLeod’s Happy Pill of an Apartment in Harlem

March 14, 2022

Thank you Pinterest Gods for bringing this gem back front-and-center on my feed today because it’s exactly what I need and I’m thinking I’m not the only one in need of it. Winter is still upon many of us and the world is a shit show so I suggest we all view this inspiration as our Vitamin-D and ray of sunlight, our happy pill for the day, I know I will.

I am so in awe of Courtney McLeod’s talent, her ability to mix colors and go high-octane all the time, it’s so fresh, and her attention to detail is pure goals. I honestly have nothing more to add, just look at those insanely good pictures below and make sure to go follow her ongoing projects on Instagram and check out her portfolio, there’s even more where that came from.

And because I know some of you will wonder right away, like I did, let me share right now : the amazing shade of blue used in the living room is Dynamic Blue by Sherwin-Williams. Now everybody go and paint your rooms this color, it’s utter perfection.

Weekly Finds

The Coolest Finds of the Week

March 11, 2022

Hi all, as you may have noticed I’ve been a little M.I.A. recently – with everything going on in the world
it’s been pretty hard to focus on seemingly trivial things…
Since I’m feeling overall very powerless I decided to try and distract myself with work and pretty things,
and today I felt like maybe you needed the distraction too.

So here is our weekly round-up of beautiful pieces I came across while sourcing for my clients.
A very moody, spiritual and boss-lady vibe to inspire your weekend.

Paris Guide : This Week-end in Art

February 28, 2022

Welcome one and all – it’s time for another instalment of “I put on pants and did stuff” !

My mom was visiting this weekend, as she does often, and that can only mean one thing : city exploring !
We ate too much – in very cute restaurants-, racked up miles zigzagging across the city – but this time in the sunshine (finally!) -,
and managed to sneak in a few cultural activities too, so I’m reporting back.

First, we caught up with the Steve McCurry exhibition at the Musée Maillol, an incredible retrospective of his work, made up of 150 oversized prints from his 40-year storied career in photography. His eye for color is just unmatched and there were so many amazing photos in that space it was overwhelming, we oohed and aahed our way through it all. I couldn’t find all of my favourites from the show online but here’s a little round up of the ones I managed to dig up :

This one really stood out in the perfect lighting of the exhibit, a very unique contrast that grabs you instantly :

Then, we switched gears completely and went to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs for a 60-year retrospective of famous, high-class designers collaborating with one of our oldest local supermarket chains here in France, under the banner of “design for all”. Many a great designer has participated, among them Terence Conran, Marc Held, India Mahdavi, Constance Guisset, Ionna Vautrin.

This is a peek at what the exhibit looks like overall, rows of items and then larger set ups for furniture :

Again here there was so much to see and such amazing pieces but
I did a little round-up to showcase some of the coolest ones from over the years !

The store in question is called Monoprix and they’re still carrying on the tradition of collabs with both visuals artists and actual designers. Most recently was a collection with one of my Insta faves and lovely human Wendy Morrisson – you can still see the collection on her website even though it sold out pretty fast !

Enjoy the inspiration !
